made in mexico!

Un clásico para cualquier mexicano viviendo en el extranjero. La traducción es difícil de hacer, y eso es parte de la diversión y el atractivo de usarlo.

A "must-have" for all Mexicans living abroad. The translation is quite challenging, and sometimes not even possible, and that's part of the allure and fun of wearing it.

feels like my life

What's The Cost? - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever
Another barcode T-shirt? That's probably the question on my (undoubtedly) vast readership's minds. Hell yeah! Although they both seem pretty much alike, I like to think there are big differences between them. In Hung Consumer, one is driven to excess and eventually falls out of love with the system... whereas here I think it is more about the crushing indifference of capitalism which just erases you. I think I might have gone overboard on the t-shirt philosophy here, but what the hell. Anyhow: I love them both.

I think this is another
Threadless.com success; but in my view, they haven't been putting out the great work they did during the first couple or years. Perhaps the fame and fortune they garnered made some of the original artists try to score success on their own, or at least get better prize money. It feels like ages since I saw a t-shirt I was ready to buy immediately. Seems like there are a zillion t-shirt sites riding (or trying to) on their success, and perhaps this has diluted the talent pool. Let's hope the voting can bring things back on track.

another threadless hit I lose

1984 Gran Hermano vs. El Liberal - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Not all wrestling tees are cool. A lot of Mexican inspired wrestling tees are. But I have to say this one is in the top 3. The printing was originally done in shiny metallic blue, which only made it cooler. Sold out in about 30 seconds. I'll be standing by in case Threadless decide to reprint it... check it out!

it's not you. it's me (or, breaking up is hard to do)

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever
This tee lasted less than a day (at least my size did) on Threadless. No reprints yet, which is extremely sad, since this is probably one of their best. Still, hope exists cause it still lives in the "sold out" section hasn't been moved to the "retired tees" section --where some of the best tees online now live as memories. Those of us lucky enough to own one of them, will probably wear them until the fabric becomes sheer (a-la "Golden Boy" from Seinfeld season 5).

butterflies of death

flowers in the attic - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

This is also one of my faves. Spectacularly beautiful destruction. Beautiful death. Very nicely done, very cosmetic, and nicer in a brown tee than the current offering in black, if you ask me.

I bought this after exactly 0,2 seconds of careful consideration. Unfortunately, the laundromat ladies did not treat it with the same loving care as had been the case in Mexico... so now it is only a memory of a beatiful, lost T.

...and counting

3,687 days since I gave a shit

T-Shirt Hell has some of the rudest, most politically incorrect t-shirts in the world.

And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE some of them. The first example, and my favourite T from their site is right here. Very like me, in my darkest, most ironic and acid humour days.

Stay tuned in the near future, for an example of the rudest T's in
T-Shirt Hell

i buy, therefore i... WAS?

Hung Consumer - Teetonic T-Shirts

Consumerism makes me feel all warm inside.

Except of course, when I get the credit card bill at the end of the month. Or when my son defines a part of his life based on what he owns. That's scary.

But feel free to click on to Teetonic and buy your own little piece of cool. C'mon, what's 15 quid to you?

touch me, i'm famous!

Touch Me - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

This is one of my top 5 favourite t-shirts. Of all time.

Threadless have retired this T to the hall of fame; which is really sad since I got mine a couple of years back, and it suffered an unfortunate accident last year (think twice about opening a bottle of red wine aboard a fast moving sailboat!).

absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

Being a fan of Absinthe, even before I ever tried it over a great dinner with Mema & Luciano, the green poison usually catches my senses. I spied this shirt at the ThreadPit and I think it's really, really cool. Not only because of the absinthe, but the design as well. I would definitely wear this (if it shipped to Argentina at a non-outlandish price).

There are some other cool tees at the ThreadPit and I really think they're worth checking out. Here is the absinthe tee from the above design, but in a really cool chocolate-brown colour (please note this image comes from the threadpit site).

And... absinthe really does make the heart grow fonder. If you have any doubts, just drink two or three shots.
